Why am I so confused about my career?

It is not a surprise that you are confused about your career, there are people confused about what to do in their 40s and 50s. It is so natural that you are confused right now!

We tend to choose our careers based on our current needs and interests. As life goes on life changes, when life changes everything about it leads to a change.

There are various factors involved in this change

• Environmental changes ( shifting home)
• Cultural change
• Giving birth to children
• Getting married
• Exposure to new people
• Content that we consume
• Hormonal changes
• Education
• Financial stability
• Getting into new relationships
• Unfortunate events in life

So you cannot be sure about what you want or what you want to do in the later part of life. Only with the present interest we make our life. In childhood, we watch a lot of cartoons but when we grow up we watch movies and songs, rarely watch cartoons or else we find that childish.

In childhood, we wanted to become scientists, police and doctors because these are the only fields that we admire and know, as we get to know more our interests change. After finishing school education we are in a situation to choose a career because we are in a that kind of system, and that is what our parents expect us to do. Some people regret choosing the field in the first month itself and for many the duration differed. There are many actors and directors who hold a Dr. and engineering degree.

You can predict a movie easily but not the life

If you allow yourself to experience the world, there will be no one career that you always want to do. The more you know the more you want to experience it. The best way to stay in a job for 30-40 years without any difficulty or boredom is to cut the contact with the outside world.

If you are heavily dependent on money then choose a career which pays you very well in which you own some skills in that. If not choose a career which you are excited about. May be after 6 months you will lose interest in this job, then try another. Keep on trying everything until you are satisfied. Life is full of unlimited possibilities.
